Lawrence grew up in a Jewish home in South Africa. He and his family later moved to Australia, Shortly after, Lawrence’s brother began to talk about how Jesus had changed his life. He was perplexed by his brother’s change in beliefs. However, after hearing his brother read Isaiah 53, Lawrence began to believe that Jesus really is the Messiah.

Lawrence soon returned to South Africa, to the love of his life, Louise. He was surprised to find that she also had accepted Jesus into her life during their time apart. They married and had a baby girl—but then the doctors presented Lawrence and Louise with some very difficult news. How did they find shalom?
